READ FIRST: I'm just a guy who's had ingrown toenails and then stumbled on a way to manage them and I think (fingers crossed) put them behind me. One time I even had to go into a podiatrist and have an ingrown toenail surgically fixed. It was not pleasant. A buddy turned me onto this topical solution called Outgro (pictured to the right). It's cheap and it really works. Basically it numbs the area where your ingrown nail is digging into your sensitive skin, (so that's nice) for some quick pain relief. Secondly, when the skin is numbed up it's more manageable to get in there with the right (sterile) tools and fix the problem yourself. This Outgro stuff is cheap and works well, but for whatever reason isn't at most drug stores (at least where I live) so I order it online. It's surprisingly cheaper that way too.

Curing an Ingrown Toenail

When it comes to curing an ingrown toenail there are lots of suggestions coming from a lot of different people. In fact there's an entire spectrum of theories out there that range from heading straight to a doctor at the very first sign of anything being even possibly wrong to trying to treat yourself no matter how bad the problem has gotten.

Most people looking for ingrown toenail solutions will first turn to the internet like you have in hopes of finding an immediate one size fits all cure that will be quickly learned from an ingrown toenail removal video or through the almost instant pain relief from a topical solution like Outgro or perhaps a conservative minded individual is doing the smart thing and looking for something to sterilize the trouble area and reduce the likelihood of infection by pulling up a product like tea tree oil for ingrown toenails. Regardless of what you're searching for the simple answer is that exactly what you needs depends a great deal on your specific situation.

For some people a temporary solution is to either go out and buy an ingrown toenail brace and still other people when really in a bind will resort to fastening a homemade toenail brace if the situation dictates it.

WARNING: Always remember that before making your own brace or fooling around with your toes in an intrusive manner you should always make sure to be using extremely clean tools or instruments so that you don't make the situation worse.
